- UEFA to present special award to Chelsea
- Chelsea first team to complete ‘European set’
- Won the Conference League last season
According to talkSPORT UEFA will hand over the special award to Chelsea just before the commencement of the 2025-26 season’s Champions League league stage draw in Monaco. The Blues became the only club in history to complete the ‘European set’ earlier this summer when they beat Real Betis 4-1 to lift their maiden Conference League title.
Chelsea’s first major European triumph came in 1998 when they beat Stuttgart to win the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup. In 2012, they defeated Bayern Munich to win their maiden Champions League trophy and then repeated the feat in 2021, when they got the better of Manchester City. In between, the Blues won two Europa League titles in 2013 and 2019 when they defeated Benfica and Arsenal respectively.
UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin will attend the 2025-26 Champions League draw and hand over the award to the Premier League side, while the club’s co-owner Todd Boehly is also expected to be present at the venue.
Enzo Maresca’s side, who are in high spirits following their 5-1 win over West Ham last week, will next face Fulham at home on Saturday in the Premier League.
