ท็อตแนม reportedly placed a £70m ($94.5m) offer for the Cameroonian forward earlier this year, and while the Spurs later denied making such a bid, the Bees have now set that amount as the ‘yardstick’ for ยูไนเต็ด to meet, reports The Athletic. United negotiators, who have been asked to speed up the transfer talks by manager Ruben Amorim, are now patiently waiting for Brentford to reduce their demands.
Fabrizio Romano earlier reported that Brentford have started looking for Mbeumo’s alternatives in the transfer market and have reportedly set their eyes on former เชลซี player Omari Hutchinson, who joined Ipswich Town last summer. The Red Devils are now pinning their hopes on the Bees’ successful transfer activity involving Hutchinson, which could open the door for Mbeumo’s exit.
Amid the transfer saga, Mbeumo reported back to Brentford’s pre-season training camp on Monday as Keith Andrews began preparations for the 2025-26 campaign.
Ruben Amorim’s United side will play their first friendly against Leeds on July 19 at Stockholm before jetting off to the U.S. for the remainder of their pre-season campaign.
