Tyrique George stays at Chelsea! Wonderkid's deadline day move to Fulham collapses at eleventh hour as he returns to Cobham

Chelsea wonderkid Tyrique George's proposed transfer to Fulham fell through at the eleventh hour on deadline day. Fulham were ready to pay £22 million ($30m) for George, while the Blues were negotiating a sell-on clause that would have allowed them to potentially profit more from the 19-year-old in the future.

The transfer talks between Chelsea and Fulham were progressing positively until the deal collapsed at the last moment on deadline day, forcing George to return to Cobham, according to 法布里齊奧·羅馬諾. The 19-year-old will now be a part of the Blues’ 2025-26 Champions League squad.

After graduating from the Blues’ youth academy, George made his senior professional debut in August 2024 in a UEFA play-off clash against Servette. The youngster made 26 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last season, although most of them came in the continental competition, where Enzo Maresca heavily rotated his team.

Despite George’s failed move to Fulham, Chelsea managed to offload several out-of-favour players in the summer transfer window, including Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix.

After a fruitful summer transfer window, where Maresca oversaw a massive rebuilding of his squad, the Blues will hope to compete for the title this season. They will next face on September 13.
